At the General Hospital Novo mesto, patient-centered care is the highest priority. As one of the leading healthcare institutions in Slovenia, the hospital consistently adheres to various international standards and protocols to ensure the highest level of healthcare. Our values - accessibility of healthcare services, dedication and professionalism of employees, quality and safety of healthcare treatment, friendly and professional communication, and creativity and development - are the foundation of our operations.

By utilizing and maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 standards and the accreditation of the hospital according to the international standard AACI 6.0, along with certifications in the field of safe food (HACCP), laundry care (RAL-GZ 992/1 and RAL-GZ 992/2), as well as certifications for "Baby-Friendly Hospital" and "Breastfeeding-Friendly Healthcare Institution," the General Hospital Novo mesto reinforces its commitment to safety and quality.

An integral part of our comprehensive quality management system is the strategy of providing fair compensation for preventable adverse events, complementing our efforts for continuous improvement in healthcare.

The hospital also improves its processes based on the findings of annual surveys conducted among both employees and patients, as well as business partners. The General Hospital Novo mesto is a family-friendly institution that cares for individuals and their loved ones from birth to end of life. We pay special attention to the well-being surrounding one of the most beautiful events in life – the birth of a child. In the Pediatrics Department, we enable 24-hour cohabitation of a healthy parent/caregiver with the child, provide premium maternity suites for mothers and their families, and offer a room for alternative births.

The mobile palliative care team operates with a high level of professionalism and empathy, providing support to palliative patients and their families both in the hospital and at home.

Our vision is to become a hospital comparable to European hospitals. The most important goal is to gain the trust of patients, ensure their well-being, and achieve satisfaction with our friendly attitude and high-quality services.

The General Hospital Novo mesto, through the establishment of a continuous quality improvement system and a strong commitment to standards and ethics in healthcare, places the patient at the center of its mission.

The hospital is actively involved in conference events focusing on quality and safety, including organizing an Open Day for public on the international Patient Safety Day celebrated on September 17th. Additionally, the hospital is recognized and awarded for its "Best Practices in Healthcare," which is a testament to its continuous efforts to improve the quality and safety of patient care. Furthermore, our employees are recipients of prestigious patient awards, including the "My Doctor" awards, further affirming its dedication to excellence and empathy in healthcare.
